Mandy Moore shared a heartfelt message honoring DJ AM on the tenth anniversary of his death.
The actress used Instagram to pay tribute to the DJ, born Adam Goldstein. Moore dated the musician briefly before he passed away from a drug overdose. He was found unresponsive in his New York City apartment on August 28, 2009.
His shocking death came one year after DJ AM was in a plane crash with Blink-182’s Travis Barker. The fatal accident killed four people. When news of the crash broke, Moore dropped everything to fly to Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia. The two remained good friends after their brief romance.

Miss you every day but today is always hard,” the This Is Us beauty shared on Instagram along with a photo of DJ AM.
The comments section of Moore’s post became flooded with famous and not so famous people responding to her tribute to her friend.

“Best DJ ever. Its not even a close 2nd, and I grew up listening to the greatest. It breaks my heart, but I listen to his music and his mash-ups every single day. It’s still revolutionary what he was able to accomplish,” replied Shawn Dees.
“true angel” shared Roxy Olin.
Travis Barker and Wilmer Valderrama used heart emojis to express their thoughts on Moore’s message.
